Event details

British singer Holly Golightly teamed with Texas's The Brokeoffs for a new collaborative release titled "You Can't Buy A Gun When You're Crying." Claiming influences such as bourbon, brisket, ribs, Lead Belly, Howlin' Wolf and the cutting-edge audio technology of the Victrola, the album is informed by WWII-era cabaret music a la Tom Waits and lots of spooky organ tones. Golightly's live sets are known to incorporate covers from the likes of Ike Turner, Lee Hazlewood and more, but expect something entirely different this time around with The Brokeoffs in tow. Lawrence songwriters Lonnie Fisher and Suzannah Johannes open up.
