Even if you don't own Tom Petty records, a night with American Girls is sure to remind you that the long-haired homeboy was (and still is) a jukebox's wet dream. Fronted by Ben Grimes (formerly of the Astralwerks band The Golden Republic) and backed by members of Architects and The Sex Police, the group has played often enough to work up a deep catalog of songs and take requests via its MySpace page. Giant American flags and bandanas may or may not be present.Fourth of July is not, after all, on the bill.
