The new British punk rock is hella fun, spearheaded by rambunctious bands like The Arctic Monkeys who mix dancefloor Britpop and vitriolic punk in equal measure. The four young lads charged out of the gate in 2006 with a smashing debut that gave MySpace's servers a run for their money, but the real prize was this year's follow-up "Favourite Worst Nightmare". The disc sharpened the group's kinetic delivery, giddy wordplay and brash Jam/Libertines/Strokes appropriating, proving that these Monkeys aren't just monkeying around.
