Electro-pop minimalists Múm are often filed alongside Sigur Rós as another band from Iceland crafting beautiful, haunting, epic music. The group's glitchy IDM programming recalls Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin, but live instrumentation ranging from accordion to brass adds warmth and tangibility to the proceedings. The group brought two new vocalists on board for its new LP "Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy," which is decidedly more spritely than the group's whisper-soft back catalog. Experimentation is still in full force, however, with tape loops, samples and other fun noisemakers abounding.
