The Department of Music and Dance in the School of Fine Arts presents a performance by the KU Symphony Orchestra (KUSO) on Tuesday, October 9, at the Lied Center of Kansas at 7:30 p.m. This will be the first concert for David Neely, the new director of orchestral activities at the University of Kansas.The evening concert will include Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein, Firebird Suite (1919) by Igor Stravinsky and Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88."This concert features three all-time favorites of the orchestral repertoire, known for their appeal to regular concert-going audiences and newcomers alike," said Neely.Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for senior citizens and students.
