Given that Chris Conley is the only remaining founding member of Saves the Day, it makes sense that he would hit the road with an acoustic guitar to hype up the group's forthcoming album "Under the Boards" (due Oct. 30 on Vagrant Records). Founded in 1997, Conley and company had a string of successful grass-roots indie releases before enduring a major-label experience that ultimately left them in the cold. Refocused with a home studio and a renewed contract with Vagrant Records, the group added former Glassjaw drummer Durijah Lang and cut an extremely focused pop record with huge hooks and just enough vitriol.
