KU Amnesty International will be hosting speaker Gisela Ortiz Perea, who has committed her life to joining the unwavering struggle against impunity so that justice will be done in the case of her brother, Enrique Ortiz Perea, and others who were disappeared and murdered in Peru. These efforts were rewarded recently when Chile agreed to extradite former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori back to Peru to face trial on charges of corruption and human rights crimes committed while he was head of state. Please join us to learn more about efforts to achieve justice in Peru from the first hand accounts of a survivor and courageous human rights advocate. There will also be a special screening of the new film in which her story is featured, AIUSA's new documentary "Justice Without Borders" which explores the global movement seeking justice and accountability for the most grave human rights abuses.
