Kansas Mutual Aid has been involved in relief work in Greensburg, Kansas- and they maintain a garden which provides free and healthy food locally, co-author and publish Allied Resistance, a newspaper written by prisoners-and distributed to over 800 prisoners throughout the United States.Lawrence Fair Food, is a part of the Alliance for Fair Food- a network of Labor and community organizations, as well as students and members of the faith community to work in alliance with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers campaign for Fair Food. The CIW -- a worker-led organization of mostly Mexican, Guatemalan, Haitian and Mayan farmworkers -- has won the successful Taco Bell Boycott and the McDonald's Campaign, setting new precedents for corporate responsibility and improving the working conditions for farmworkers who pick tomatoes in Florida's fields. The CIW is now taking on Burger King- demanding that they agree to work with farmworkers to end the sweatshop conditions in the lowest part of their supply chain. Lawrence Fair Food is raising money for the August 25th March for Fair Food in Lawrence as well as for five people to attend the Student Farmworker Alliance Encuentro in Immokalee, Florida.
