The Watkins Community Museum of History will begin its children's summer programming on Thursday June 8 with "O Pioneers!: Life in Territorial Kansas" from 10:30 a.m to Noon. Children between the ages of 8 and 12 will discover what life was like for children in Territorial Kansas as they try on period clothing, write with dip pens and make a whirligig. $10 per child of non-members of the Douglas County Historical Society, $8 for members, and $9 for members of Boys & Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
