The whole family is invited to A Victorian Christmas at the Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts St, Lawrence, KS, on Saturday December 2nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children will discover how the holidays were celebrated over a hundred years ago as they make party crackers, garland, and other historical decorations. Plus, they may tell Father Christmas their Christmas wishes and visit the newly renovated Victorian playhouse and reading corner. The entire family will enjoy seeing the museum decked out for the holidays and listening to great music by the St. Nicholas Stringband (12:30), New Horizons Clarinets (1:45) and musicians from the Americana Music Academy (3:00). And one mustn't forget to shop for the perfect gift for your favorite history buff at Miss Lizzie's. Come and enjoy the holiday season from a bygone era.Children are $5 when accompanied by an adult.
