On Saturday Column: How will funding shifts impact higher education?

The money well is drying up. How can it be recharged in today’s economy?

A thought? Quit voting for the destroyers.

We are in a masked depression. The westwern Social Democracies, including America are running out of money. Of course money will be in ever shorter supply going forward. Competition for scarce funds will become ever more frenzied. Alas the middle class is shrinking and cannot be relied upon to close the gap on burgeoning shortfalls.

Perhaps ever more funding is not the fumdamental answer to continuing to educate young Kansans. Maybe more emphasis and higher scrutiny should be directed to the bevy of admimistrators ostensibly trained to martial resources that are in such short supply.

The best resource for any family or institution is its creativity and imagination, in a word its resourcefulness.

Meanwhile the state of Kansas keeps "de-volving".

But don't worry...edumacation and paved roads are highly over-rated.
