On Escaped horses found shot to death near county road

Greg Cooper 3 years, 11 months ago

First of all, my sympathy to the horses, and to the owner, who probably meant no harm to the animals. It's too bad they "escaped" but surely did not deserve their fate.

NOW, LJWorld, some elementary composition questions: 1) Were the horses found by the road or by some human? I mean, I can never be found by a county road when I'm lost. It's good the road found the horses, though, unless... 2) The horses were shot to death by the county road. Low maintenance is bad, but murderous roads are just not acceptable.

Your headline writer certainly leaves a lot to the imagination in this headline. I'm sure this is an oversight, but, you must admit, it's funny as written.

Oh, yeah, and were the horses actually escaped, or were they released by someone, or some county road? Perhaps a little journalistic investigation is in order to find out if they indeed escaped on their own or were let go by a person, or county road, who/which then shot them dead.

And the son had what to say about this?

The son (my brother) is in the USAF right now. He left at the end of January, so I'm quite sure he has nothing to say about it right now.

Sure are a lot of sick, pathetic mother effers in this world. I hope they pay for their savagery. Karma bites.

Good thing no one was hurt, a horse colliding with a car is very dangerous.

Agreed. It's like no one is blaming the owners of the horses. If they caused a fatal car accident, they would be liable.

I hope the killer is found and prosecuted. This is a terrible crime

I hope Douglas County does what they can to find out who did this. The killer needs to be prosecuted for animal cruelty. I have horses and they have escaped before. Fortunately, I had great neighbors who called and I got them back home. I hope there is follow through.

My father is the owner of the horses. Our horse was 30 years old and never got loose from our farm. He was a racing horse so of course he was trained and one of the nicest horses. I hope the person who did it will be found, or at least confess up to it. Pathetic.
