On State school board wants stronger enforcement of criminal registry law

All criminal convictions are reported to the KBI. That information is available to law enforcement agencies upon request. Instead of relying on the prosecutors to forward them the information, why doesn't the Board simply run a records check with KBI? If they are not permitted access to that information from the KBI, then the law needs to be changed giving the Board access.
