I am very pleased that they have this recognition.

Now, why not a story from each person about their most difficult call?

Congrats to all !!!! Thankful to all the people who work there and are mainly unseen. Great group (even if I don't know many of you anymore) and well deserving of recognition. Very tough job.

incredibly stressful job, on the end of a phoneline hearing all kinds of stuff.

agreed: like to hear individuals' stories.

also, glad the chaplains got recognized too, support for the dispatchers!

I have the greatest respect for 911 dispatchers. I was a deputy sheriff for 30 years, in a nearby county. At the time dispatchers were sworn deputies, and I did that job for many years. I know firsthand the stress and emotions involved in the job. Now the county I worked in, and DG county where I live, uses civilians for the job. I know many of the dispatchers, and I know what their job entails. I congratulate each and every one of them for doing their job well. I know that they have to want to help people to do it. They save lives. I have called a few times over the years. I was always treated with respect and courtesy. God Bless our sheriff, police, firefighters, EMT's and especially our 911 dispatchers.
