My father in law a fiscal conservative republican for at least 60 years switched parties 3 years ago after becoming exasperated with the Rt Wing Anti Women Libertarian Neocon Fundamentalist Tea Party for Economic Terrorism still posing as the GOP.
The switch was earth shattering to say the least. Although he gave up voting party line long before making the switch. I like to think he switched after years of me telling him the GOP is dead.
He prefers the position that the party walked away from him. Although in his heart remains a fiscal conservative republican who consistently voted the "best" candidate no matter which side of the aisle.
He does not see the Rt Wing Anti Women Libertarian Neocon Fundamentalist Tea Party for Economic Terrorism as a party with any fiscally conservative notions whatsoever only as reckless spenders.
