Of course they are still republicans. You cannot change the leopard's spots. Regardless of what the platform says and regardless of their advertising and the propaganda that they spew, they are always going to believe that a black man has no place in the White House, that illegal immigrants have no rights, the whole Muslim world is to blame for terrorism, that the rich shouldn't be taxed, that pledges to Norquist were right. How can you imagine that republicans can change? This is their platform and regardless of win or lose, that is what they believe.
Did the letter writer attend Dolph Simons' course on how to write an opinion piece using only questions?
Romney did propose massive tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals, so in fact, he did propose kicking the can further down the road.
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 – 2005
(Three-time past President of the Southern Baptist Convention)
Guy who wrote this might like credit. I assume his church paid taxes and refused all govt help for its members.
I think they should pay taxes. Separation of church and state has to do with government not imposing a religion on a state or country as a policy. If churches want to be involved in politics they should be paying taxes just like every other entity. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
"I think they should pay taxes"
OK. They pay taxes, they can officially endorse candidates to their congregations... even the congregations of millions that follow televangelists.
Don't wish too hard, you might turn us into an actual theocracy..
They already endorse candidates to their congregations, they just don't do it publicly.
Why are demos and libs so concerned about repubs changing their ideology? Since Obama won you have nothing better to do?
I hope the R's change. It would be good for America if the two parties were strong and worked together.
The repub party declared the day Obama was elected their primary function would be
to make Obama a one term president. Consequently their millions of NO votes became
the disastrous campaign against women,The USA and jobs for Americans.
Looks like a repeat performance thus far. Can we say Deja Vu?
Yes they are doing more diversion than ever from the issues of jobs, the economy and more jobs.
We're back to sex lives of generals and a made up Libyan scandal.
Few things will ever compare to how the 9/11/01 got pulled off right in front of the Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rummy noses? What were they doing?
How about the Bush/Cheney and Reagan/Bush home loan scams?
Search your own soul and let other people worry about their ideology. And vote.
Would you change your political beliefs if someone told you to?
