This man Brownback has literately lied, backstabbing, and is cheating Kansans on a daily bases. Why isn't there a recall? Why isn't he being investigated for fraud? He is hurting all of Kansas, and all anyone is going is shrugging their shoulders!
Given the ideological shift that went even further to the Teapublican right in the election just passed, Sam Brownback is now, for all intents and purposes, a dictator with a one party government and Legislature that will rubber stamp anything he puts through it. There is now no difference between Kansas and an Eastern bloc country in the old Soviet Union, with the only exception being that Brownback can't close the state's borders.
This is the government that the people of Kansas elected. Douglas County is the only blue county in the entire state. It's time that it's citizens pull their heads out of their bubble and realize that their only choice is to either leave the state or live with it, because Brownback isn't going anywhere anytime soon and his (hand picked) successor is likely to be just as bad.
Welcome to Teapublican Paradise.
Live with it, then vote in another two years. Whining won't cut it.
I hink some people think they are going to get free health care, NOT!
You shouldn't "hink" so much. It isn't one of your strengths.
Why would people think healthcare would be free, when it was called the "free market solution" by Republicans prior to Democrats adoption of the current plan?
Brownbackwards was a o9ousey senator, why did anyone think that Mr. Texas Prayer Meeting would be a beter governer??
I still have a letter from his "office" several years back telling me that "Senator Brownback was concerned about my issues and that would respond to me shortly". That still has not occurred.
Dennis Moore, Democratic congressman did reply and in fact offered me advice as to how to solve the difficulty I had encountered.
Democratic Congressman= +10
Republican Governer.....(appropriate explitive deleted)...loser.
The state of Chaos er. I mean Kansas is the confluence of Fox News fearmongering and Koch brothers lies. ALEC and the Libertarians have now reaked destruction not unlike an F5 tornado. What we forget is we are a RED state. What does that mean other than we believe in fantasies that the Rightwinger tell us? It means that we can't exist without outside help. That we will take in more overall money in Medicare, SS, Medicaid, Farm subsidies, and etc. than we pay back in to the Feds in taxes. We are dependant on others, no matter what the libertarians say, and unless the dreams of lakes of oil under southern Kansas come true, we will be in a world of hurt until we change.
The siren song that Brownie sings is simply we can have everything for nothing. Low taxes, good schools, less regulation, whatever we imagine it will come true. Well we are dreaming of becoming Mississippi and that dream may soon come true.
Why do so many people want higher taxes, higher health care costs, and less access to health care?
Where are you getting your information? Try the congressional budget office at www.cbo.gov.
I was getting my information from the people posting above.
What are you talking about. What does the budget office have to do with what the above people are wanting?
I am referring to the assumptions that healthcare would cost more and be less accessible. Facts from CBO do not support those assumptions. Did I misinterpret you?
How dare you have an opinion or try to report a fact. This is Kansas, where we go with our gut, and never question what our friends in the GOP have to say. We should cut taxes until the bridges start collapsing and every hospital, prison and school is private and for profit. Then all those darn poor people will leave.
Second incarnation in one day?
Only when the voters who put Brownback in office — and the media entities like this one who supported and endorsed Brownback for governor — materially suffer from his policies and his ignorance, and more importantly connect the dots between his policies and ignorance and the woeful state of the State (not blaming it on gays, abortion, and liberals) will Kansas change.
That said, a reasonable assertion can be made that those voters will never connect the dots and never vote for actual solutions to making life for Kansas better in fact, not fantasy.
Look west, Kansans, to the land of Reagan and Nixon. Republicans are hardly even a functioning party in California anymore. Voters have resoundingly rejected Republicans and their policies.
Change will come, but maybe Kansas will stay as a backward, sparsely populated pheasant game hunting park for the well off citizens of other states. That seems to be Brownback's current plan: http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2012/nov...
Christ, Brownback, you ain"t no saviour ( how is your tax payer funded healthcare doing?)
