Wow. There must be absolutely no sports news to report on, because I've heard nothing from the JW except story after story about this stupid game.

So the first time these two schools meet head to head in state competition is stupid?
I'd rather read about the local kids than the NBA playoffs (which will drag on for at least another month) or the Royals who appear to be doing their annual tank job.

I would agree with take_a_letter that this is an important and rare opportunity for the community paper to cover two community teams competing against each other in the highest competition in the state.
But there is a lot of high school action going on in the area.
The question is whether the LJWorld considers itself an area paper or a city paper. State track is this weekend in Wichita and 15 miles down the road at Baldwin Heather Garcia is finishing out a career as one of the most dominating runners in 4A history. The JWorld has covered her but only after the season is over. She is a D-1 signee (Boston College) and she could break at least one 4A record this weekend in Wichita. I may be premature in this suggestion bc there could be a story in the works, but she is a pretty special and rare athlete that deserves some ink.

Good call on that daver.
It would be interesting to see more on some of the “olympic” sport athletes from the area in season instead of at the end.

I agree about track. Free State is sending 20 kids to state today, and I've seen very little coverage of the area schools' track accomplishments this season.
