With a lump in my throat and a pain in my heart I thank all American Veterans for their sacrifices. Especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I am a Vietnam Vet but I think the Veterans of the second world a the real heros of the 20th Century. They stepped up and fought one hell of a war. May God Bless Them All!!

So easy to forget the number of Douglas County citizens who served our country so bravely and honorably. May God Bless Them All indeed!

The CITY OF LAWRENCE has no Veterans hiring. Thanks for your service, yet no reward in seeking employment. Only military families and vets have the true spirit of Service.

The true spirit of Service doesn't demand or expect a reward. To serve and do one's duty is reward enough.
God bless all those.
Seems like a lot of WWII losses, relatively speaking.
