    Actually, if you don't like dirt, you can try hydroponics.

    Well THAT was helpful. Did you even read the question? I said that the varieties I chose were specifically described as “fragrant.”

    Jennifer Smith: It must be the varieties. Plant varieties are like siblings, and are usually selected for one or two specific traits. So, while many varieties of each of these plants have fragrant flowers, not all of them do. There is a lof of variation in peony especially. Some of the newer lilac varieties like 'Miss Kim' don't smell like the older varieties.

    I read this earlier and thought that answer a bit vague, but I had seen she was already under pressure, and probably wasn't saying all she might really know.

    I looked up, “mock orange no fragrance” and looks like others share the same problem, You have probably found this. My books are all buried in the basement. I'll see what I can find.
