Nicole and Robert Johnson

Nicole Lafond, Lawrence, and Robert Johnson, Edmond, Okla., were married Sept. 24, 2011, at the Englebrake Estate in Baldwin City, with the Rev. Dr. Peter Luckey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Alea Lafond, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Charles and Karen Johnson, Edmond.
Matrons of honor were Allison Carson and Ashley Lafond. Best men were Tyler Simpson and Britton Langdon. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Johnson, Elizabeth Lewis, Austin Ice, Mary Noulles and Ashley Boero. Junior bridesmaid was Rylie Carson. Groomsmen were Justin Elkouri, Jed Killough, Anton Bengtson, Kyle Evans and Brad Thies. Ushers were Brady Flannery, Devin Barr, Michael Johnson and Brian Merkley. Reader was David Armstrong. Flower girl was Parker Carson. Ringbearers were Mason Thomas and Porter Thomas.
A reception followed at the Estate.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral sciences from Kansas University in 2008 and is employed in the marketing department with the Nordstrom Corporate offices in Seattle.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Edmond (Okla.) North High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2005 and a law degree in 2008, both from KU. He is an attorney at the Law Offices of Floyd, Pflueger and Ringer in Seattle.
The couple reside in Seattle.

Megan Englebrake, Lawrence, and Brian Zorbini, Jasper, Ala., were married Feb. 27, 2012, at Secret Silversands Resorts in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Judy Englebrake, Baldwin City.
The groom is the son of Dave and Deb Zorbini, Jasper.
Matron of honor was Molly LaFaver. Best man was Sean LaFaver.
The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Kansas University. She is a human resource generalist for JE Dunn.
The groom is a graduate of Walker County High School and Auburn University. He is a project engineer for US Engineering.
The couple reside in Prairie Village.

Anniversary

Barbara and Mike Cater

Mike and Barbara Cater, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, hosted by their children and grandchildren, March 10 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Lawrence.
Mike Cater and Barbara Hook are high school sweethearts. They were married March 16, 1962, at the Quenemo Baptist Church parsonage with the Rev. Art Sims officiating.
Mike was a 30-year employee of King Radio-Honeywell International Corporation of Olathe. Barbara was a homemaker and worked briefly for King Radio in Ottawa.
They have three sons, Michael Jr. and wife Chris, Osawatomie, Arthur Raymond and partner Alyson, Lawrence, and Steven and wife Rebecca, Benton, Ark.; two daughters, Teresa Cater and partner Charmine, Lawrence, and Janette Funk and husband Loren, Lecompton; and nine grandchildren.

Haley Nicole Sellers and Kyle Brent Fox

Shane and Cindy Sellers, Tahlequah, Okla., and Lori and Jerry Olson, Eudora, announce the engagement of their daughter, Haley Nicole Sellers, Eudora, to Kyle Brent Fox, Salina.
The future bride is a 2009 graduate of Eudora High School. She will earn a licensed practical nursing certificate from Johnson County Community College in May and will continue to study for an associate degree in registered nursing also from JCCC.
The future groom is the son of John and Kim Fox, Salina. He is a 2009 graduate of Salina South High School. He will earn an associate degree in information technology from JCCC in December and is employed at Results Technology.
The couple plan a June 23, 2012, wedding at Lawrence First Church of the Nazarene.

Elizabeth Long-Christian and Kyle Coleman, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of David and Rebecca Long, Kansas City, Mo., and Vickey Long, Basehor. She is a graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School and Kansas University, and is employed with the chemistry department at KU.
The future groom is the son of Bret and Kelly Coleman, Lecompton, and Kim and Andy Booth, Lawrence. He is a graduate of Lawrence High School and is employed with Natural Breeze Remodeling.
The couple plan a May 5, 2012, wedding in Lawrence.
