Jeremy and Rachel O’Brien
Rachel Elizabeth Sellon, Lawrence, and Jeremy O’Brien, Newton, Mass., were married May 28, 2011, at Shattuck Hotel in Berkeley, Calif., with the bride’s uncle, George F. Schueler, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gordon and Dulcy Sellon, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Anthony and Joan O’Brien, Livermore.
Maid of honor was Alicia Sellon. Best man was Charles O’Brien. Bridesmaids were Jordon Rosefigura, Allison Gatt, Allison Leib, Amanda Landi and Vanessa Bumster. Honorary bridesmaid was Maired Brownell. Groomsmen were Justin Lau, Michael Lazarus, Ryan Leib and Chris Sellon. Flower girl was Mya Gatt. Ringbearer was Aidan Brownell.
A reception followed at the hotel.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Grinnell College in 2004 and plans to complete a doctorate in chemistry from the University of California-Berkely this year.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Newton High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004, a doctorate in chemistry from the UC Berkeley in December 2011, and is pursuing a post doctorate in physical chemistry also at UC Berkeley.
The couple reside in Berkely.

Megan and James Whitney
Megan Tate, Lawrence, and James Whitney, Elmdale, were married Nov. 12, 2011, at All Faiths Chapel at Kansas State University with Norbert Tegtmeier officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Susan Tate, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Edward and Sharon Whitney, Elmdale.
Maid of honor was Lauren Lambrecht. Best man was Tyler Ringer. Bridesmaids were Michelle Taylor, Kayla Stansbury and Cheris Messerly. Groomsmen were David Budke, Tyler Pilger and Alex Reisinger. Flower girls were Kassidy Budke and Maliya White. Ushers were David Messerly and Preston Lambrecht.
A reception followed at Wareham Opera House in Manhattan.
The bride is a graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Emporia State University, and is employed at K-State.
The groom is a graduate of Chase County High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Emporia State, a master’s degree in biology at K-State, and is studying for a doctorate in biology at K-State.
The couple reside in Manhattan.

Ron Amyx, Lawrence, and Teri Amyx, Overland Park, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Amyx, to Caleb Ausmus, both of Overland Park.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School. She attended Highland and Johnson County Community Colleges and is a leasing professional at The Woods of Cherry Creek Apartment Homes in Overland Park.
The future groom is the son of Joe and Gayle Ausmus, Dodge City. He is a 1994 graduate of Dodge City High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and Master of Business Administration degree, both from Friends University, and is a banking officer at US Bank in Overland Park.
The couple plan a Sept. 29, 2012, wedding at Centennial Park in Lawrence.

Paul and Sheryl Krzanowsky announce the engagement of their daughter, Christine Krzanowsky, all of Lawrence, to Joseph Smith, Holt, Mo.
The future bride is a graduate of Free State High School and Johnson County Community College. She is employed by Cassidy Turley Commercial Real Estate Services in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
The future groom is the son of Dave and Bonnie Smith, Holt. He is a graduate of Plattsburg (Mo.) High School and is employed by Clarkson Construction in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple plan a Sept. 22, 2012, wedding in Lawrence.
