Doug and Shannon Cloud
Doug and Shannon Cloud, rural Overbrook, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on July 14.
Douglas Cloud and Shannon Gamble were married July 14, 1962, in Rush Springs, Okla.
They moved to Wichita after graduating from Oklahoma State University and then to Lawrence in 1967. They owned and operated Cloud Heating and Air Conditioning in Lawrence for 40 years.
The couple have two daughters, Sharla Cloud and Vicki Cloud, both of Baldwin City; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; A son, Scott, died July 15, 2009.

Wanda and Don Westheffer
Don and Wanda Westheffer, Lawrence, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
They were married June 28, 1947, at a Methodist parsonage in Lawrence.
The couple met at a New Year’s Eve Dance at the Community Building. They have enjoyed farming, building a business, and being active in the charitable organization, Abdallah Shrine.
They have two sons, Murl Westheffer and wife Carla, Lawrence, and the late Gary Westheffer; and three grandchildren.

Joseph Holek and Heather Van Dyke
John and Kathy Van Dyke announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Van Dyke, to Joseph Holek, all of Tonganoxie.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas City Kansas Community College. She is a clerk at Tonganoxie City Hall.
The future groom is the son of Bill and Diana Holek, Tonganoxie, and Julie Bartlett, Davenport, Fla. He is a 2001 graduate of Tonganoxie High.
The couple plan an outdoor September 2012 wedding in Overland Park.

Elizabeth and Kyle Coleman
Elizabeth Long-Christian, Basehor, and Kyle Coleman, Lawrence, were married May 5, 2012, at Booth Farms in Lawrence, with Hank Booth officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David and Rebecca Long, Kansas City, Mo., and Vickey Long, Basehor.
The groom is the son of Bret and Kelly Coleman, Lecompton, and Kim and Andy Booth, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Tori Booth. Best man was Brian Lewis. Bridesmaids were Riah Hardin, Rachel Cook and Hannah Cook. Groomsmen were Scott Long, Cameron Coleman and Corey Coleman. Flower girl was Scout Meyers. Ringbearer was Truman Meyers.
A reception was given at Steve’s Place in Lawrence.
The bride is a graduate of Basehor-Linwood High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University and is also employed by KU.
The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School. He is employed by Natural Breeze Remodeling in Lawrence.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Jillian and Chase Johnson
Jillian Hay and Chase Johnson, both of Lawrence, were married April, 28, 2012, at the Eldridge Hotel, with The Rev. Peter Luckey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Megan Hay, rural Baldwin City.
The groom is the son of Steve and Cheryl Johnson, Southlake,Texas.
Maid of honor was Chloe Hay. Best man was Alex Johnson. Bridesmaids were Mallory West and Kyleigh Garman. Groomsmen were Landon Hay and Dylan Hay.
A reception followed in the Eldridge Hotel Ballroom.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Kansas University. She graduated from Johnson County Community College’s dental hygiene program this May and is a registered dental hygienist in Overland Park and Lawrence.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Lawrence High and also attended KU. He is a member of the Kansas Army National Guard and is employed at McCarthy Chevrolet, Olathe.
The couple reside in Overland Park.
