Poage and Preno
Amanda Poage, Baldwin City, and Tayne Preno, Overland Park, were married Dec. 10, 2011, in the Kansas Room of the Kansas Union at Kansas University, with the Rev. Bonnie Kelly officiating.
The bride is the daughter of LeRoy and Linda Poage, Baldwin City.
The groom is the son of Thomas and Loretta Preno, Overland Park.
Maid of honor was Lindsey Norwood. Best man was Dede Preno. Bridesmaids were Danielle Stephens, Kathy Reed and Andrea Nguyen. Groomsman was Steve Burdge. Flower girls were Cydnee Price and Hannah Winn. Ringbearer was Henry Maxwell. Ushers were Heath Cartwright and Ryan Youngs. Musician was Toan Nguyen. Piano accompanist was Will Duncan. Guest book attendant was Warren Swenson.
A reception was given at the Adams Alumni Center at KU.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Baldwin High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from KU in 2006 and an elementary education license from Ottawa University in 2010. She is employed with the Olathe School District and The YMCA of Greater Kansas City.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in history from Avila University in 2006, and a master’s degree in education from Rockhurst University in 2009. He is employed with the Frontier School of Excellence in Kansas City, Mo.
The couple reside in Gardner.
Johnson and Myers
Kenneth and Christine Johnson, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Caitlin Christine Johnson, to Dustin Scott Myers, both of Edwardsville.
The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science from Kansas University in 2005 and graduated from Johnson County Community College’s interpreter training program in 2008. She is a sign language interpreter in video relay service and a freelance interpreter.
The future groom is the son of Lori Myers, Topeka. He is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Emporia State University in 2005 and is studying for a master’s degree in business education from Emporia State. He is the head of the business department at Lansing High School.
The couple plan an October 2012 wedding at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.
Zephier and Bernie
Geraldine Zephier and James Bernie, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Gerald Zephier, Lawrence. She is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence Alternative High School and is a laundry attendant at the Holidome.
The future groom is the son of Yvonne Bernie, Lawrence. He is a 2001 graduate of Ottawa Alternative High School and is employed as a gardener.
The couple plan a December 2012 wedding at the Douglas County Courthouse.
Tyler and Sizemore
Stephen Sr. and Betty Tyler, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya M. Tyler, to Russell J. Sizemore Jr., both of Valley Falls.
The future bride attended Free State High School and is an assistant manager at Taco Bell in Topeka.
The future groom is the son of Russell and Catherine Sizemore, Oskaloosa. He is a 1999 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and is the general manager at Burger King in Lawrence.
The couple plan an Aug. 25, 2012, wedding at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.
Hochstetler and Schraeder
Steven and Bonnie Hochstetler, Horton, along with Kirk and DeAnn Schraeder, Dodge City, announce the engagement of their children, Brandi Hochstetler and Ross Schraeder, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Horton High School. She earned an associates degree in business administration from Highland Community College in 2003 and is an admissions representative in the Business Health Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Dodge City High School. He earned an associates degree in general studies from Dodge City Community College in 2000, a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Kansas University in 2005, and is a recreation center programmer for the City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department.
The couple plan a Nov. 3, 2012, wedding at First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.
