Julie and Grady Breithaupt
Julie Ann Kellogg, Lecompton, and Grady Bruce Breithaupt, Rantoul, were married April 16, 2011, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Bump officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Kathy Kellogg, Lecompton.
The groom is the son of Bruce and Cathy Breithaupt, Rantoul.
Matrons of honor were Chrissy Mayer and Jenny Morgison. Best man was Sean Breithaupt. Bridesmaids were Sarah Kellogg, Lesley Breithaupt, Crystal Hutchinson, Nora Dunnaway, Paige Heyward, Lacey Martin and Sarah Blackwell. Groomsmen were Chris Edstrom, Brian Hutchinson and Jayson Owings. Ushers were Jason Kellogg, Chris Martin, Shelton Breithaupt and Seth Breithaupt. Flower girls were Ava, Sophia and Grace Martin. Ringbearers were Tallon and Evan Kellogg. Vocalist was Nora Dunnaway. Guitarist was Chris Martin.
A reception was given at Maceli’s in Lawrence.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas University and is the 10 p.m. senior news producer at KCTV5 in Fairway.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Wellsville High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from University of Phoenix and is employed as a routing analyst for Apria Healthcare in Lenexa.
The couple reside in Mission.

Ashley and Thomas Shmalberg
Ashley Johnson and Thomas Shmalberg, both of Lawrence, were married March 19, 2011, in the Aztec Room at the Hilton President Hotel in downtown Kansas City, Mo., with Judge Miles Sweeney officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Chuck and Teena Johnson, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Scott and Deb Shmalberg, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Alyssa Johnson. Bridesmaid was Jamie Shmalberg. Groomsmen were Matt Torres and Bryce Torres. Flower girl was Lexie Morefield. Ushers were Paul Kauffman and Colby Bullock.
A reception was given in the Congress Ballroom at the hotel.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a master’s degree in architecture from Kansas State University in May 2008 and will earn a master’s degree in landscape architecture from K-State this December.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Lawrence High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from Kansas University in May 2008 and is employed by Scotch Industries in Lawrence.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Buck Wendel and Beth Anne Wegner
Jane and Gus Wegner, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Beth Anne Wegner, to Buck Wendel, both of Lenexa.
The future bride earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and a juris doctorate, both from Kansas University. She is the community outreach and crime prevention specialist with the Olathe Police Department.
The future groom is the son of Theresa and Kevin Wendel, Kingsville, Mo. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Central Missouri and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration degree from KU. He is a client service manager at ExpertPlan, Inc. in Overland Park.
The couple plan a Sept. 17, 2011, wedding at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Lawrence.
