Donald and Sharon Curran

Donald and Sharon Curran, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Union Pacific depot.
Donald Curran and Sharon Houk were married June 4, 1960, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Big Springs.
Sharon retired from Jostens, and Don retired from Lawrence Paper Company.
The couple have three sons, Jeff and Don, Lawrence, and Randy, Carbondale; and two daughters, Laura Warner and Christy Curran, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.

Lucy and Clarence Seaver

Clarence and Lucy Seaver, Lawrence, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Smith Center at Brandon Woods. The event will be hosted by their daughter, Cheryl Wonnell; granddaughter Micki Prager with her husband, Jamie, and their children, Taylor and Tyler; and grandson Rob Wonnell with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Josiah and Micah.
Lucy Kell and Clarence Seaver were married June 1, 1940. They lived in McLouth most of their lives. Clarence farmed and worked as the shop foreman at Murphy Hall at Kansas University for 16 years. Lucy worked at various jobs in McLouth and Lawrence and was a homemaker.
Clarence also celebrated his 90th birthday on May 30. Birthday or anniversary cards for the couple can be sent to 805 Murrow Ct., Lawrence, KS 66049.

Louise and Charles Wintermantel

Charles and Louise Wintermantel, Worden, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house and barbecue at 6:30 p.m. June 12 at their home, 446 E. 1100 Road, Worden. The celebration will be hosted by their children.
The couple were married on June 5, 1960, at the Clinton United Presbyterian Church.
They have lived and farmed in the Worden area most of their married lives. Charles also worked for and retired from the Du Pont Co. Louise worked in Baldwin school food services and served as an activities director at Vintage Park Assisted Living. She was also a farm wife and homemaker.
They have two sons, Steven and wife Gina, of Wisconsin, and Mike and wife Kelly, Baldwin City; two daughters, Amy Wintermantel, Baldwin City, and Ellen Peterson and husband Steve, New Delhi, India; and nine grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.

Chad Barker and Sommer White

Dr. Keith and Kay White along with Chris and Pam Barker announce the engagement of their children, Sommer White and Chad Barker, all of Lawrence.
The future bride will be a sophomore majoring in children’s ministry and elementary education with a minor in business administration at Southwestern Assembly of God University.
The future groom completed a bachelor’s degree in health promotion education from Emporia State University in May.
The couple plan an Aug. 7, 2010, wedding at Victorian Veranda Country Inn, Lawrence.

Bob and Lea Ann Cooper, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jayme Lea Cooper, to D. Cole Minton, both of Manhattan.
The future bride earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Kansas State University in 2008, and is employed by the Flint Hills Job Corps.
The future groom is the son of Ernie and Teresa Minton, Manhattan. He is a firefighter with the Manhattan Fire Department.
The couple plan a September 2010 wedding at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Manhattan.

Benjamin Ryan Sanford and Sally Elizabeth Bollig

Jerry Bollig and Dr. Theresa King-Bollig, Perry, and Deanna Beckman, Grinnell, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sally Elizabeth Bollig, to Benjamin Ryan Sanford, both of Perry.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Silver Lake High School. She plans to earn an associate degree in nursing from Neosho County Community College in December, and works as a licensed practical nurse in Topeka.
The future groom is the son of Terry and Karen Sanford, Lecompton. He is a 2005 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School, and is a mechanic in Lawrence.
The couple plan a July 2010 wedding in Perry.
