Erin Dunlap and Kevin Nelson, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Sharon Dunlap, Overland Park. She is a 2005 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in social welfare from Kansas University in May.
The future groom is the son of Scott and Beth Nelson, Smithville, Mo. He is a 2003 graduate of Smithville High School, and earned an associate’s degree from Metropolitan Community College in 2006. He plans to earn an economics degree from KU next May, and is employed at Amarr.
The couple plan a June 2011 wedding in Lawrence.

Danny and Tani Ruff, Ozawkie, and Debbie Hart, Eudora, along with Dave Smith and Rhonda Smith, both of Ottawa, announce the engagement of their children, Ashli Ruff, Eudora, and Justin Smith, Ottawa.
The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Eudora High School. She is attending Emporia State University and will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and an associate’s degree in Spanish next May.
The future groom is a 2005 graduate of Ottawa High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from ESU in 2009, and is an assistant manager at Walmart in McPherson.
The couple plan a July 9, 2011, wedding in Lawrence.

Kent and Diana Beisner announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Beisner, all of Lawrence, to Nick Jerkovich, Olathe.
The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Lawrence High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a concentration in Spanish from Kansas University in May.
The future groom is the son of George and Joan Jerkovich, Salina, and the late Monica Jerkovich. He is a 2004 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with minors in business and South Slavic languages from KU in 2008.
The couple plan an Aug. 14, 2010, wedding in Lawrence.

John Paul and Ann Johnson, Lawrence, along with Butch and Karen Ashley, Eudora, announce the engagement of their children, Laura Johnson and Andrew Ashley, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2006 graduate of Free State High School, and is completing an English degree at Kansas University.
The future groom is also a 2006 graduate of FSHS, and is completing a degree in vocal performance at KU.
The couple plan a June 18, 2011, wedding at the Victorian Veranda Country Inn, Lawrence.

Kimberly Ann Kincade and Lance Henry Plaice, both of Eudora, were married June 12, 2010, at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., with Gene Shelton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Harry and Marie Johnson, Overland Park.
The groom is the son of Robert Plaice, Rocklin, Calif., and the late Geraldine Marie Plaice.
Maid of honor was Amanda Sword. Bridesmaids were Jordan Johnson and Tara Johnson. Groomsmen were Brandon Kincade, Kyle Plaice, Nicholas Kincade and Jordan Plaice, sons of the bride and groom.
A reception followed at the theater.
The couple reside in Eudora.

Bob and Donna Brown, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 11 at the American Legion in Perry.

Carolyn and John Reed
John and Carolyn Reed, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday at Maceli’s with family and friends. Don Kile of Emporia and Steve Kile of Topeka, longtime friends of the couple, furnished music for the event.
The couple were married June 5, 1960, in Larned.
John graduated from Kansas University School of Pharmacy. Carolyn graduated from Washburn University. They owned a drug store in Cottonwood Falls. John is currently a pharmacist for Dillons.
They have two daughters, Cindy Reed, Lawrence, and Lisa Miller and husband Rick, Overland Park; a son, Paul and wife Pat, Lawrence; and five granddaughters, Ashton and Emily Miller, and Molly, Jessica and Allison Reed.
The couple request no gifts.
