Krones and Bell

Brandi and Brian Bell

Brandi Krones, Lawrence, and Brian Bell, Billings, Mont., were married Oct. 24, 2009, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Kriss Krones, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Linda Canida, Liberty, Mo., and the late Michael Bell.
Maid of honor was Kristina Krones. Best man was Trevor Van Bunnen. Bridesmaids were Samantha Pedraza, Isabelle Krones, Lora Bruce and Kim Stoltz. Groomsmen were Luke Johannsen, Cameron Krones, Drew Bishop and Zach Stamper. Flower girl was Inara Johannsen. Ringbearer was Joey Krones. Vocalist was John Krones. Readers were Kristina Krones, Erin Kitten and Michael Bruce.
A reception was given at Knights of Columbus Hall in Lawrence.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering technology from DeVry University in 2008 and is a software quality assurance engineer for Schwab Performance Technologies.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Blue Valley High School. He is pursuing a computer information systems degree from Johnson County Community College and is a sales manager for Sprint.
The couple reside in Overland Park.

Jessica and Adam Staszkiewicz

Jessica Marie Britt, Lawrence, and Adam Laurence Staszkiewicz, Bartlesville, Okla., were married June 27, 2009, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Fred Hollomon and the Rev. Mick Mulvany officiating. Hollomon is the bride’s grandfather.
The bride is the daughter of John Britt, Lawrence, and Janice and Doug Samsel, Topeka.
The groom is the son of Larry and Annette Staszkiewicz, Bartlesville.
Maid of honor was Janae Britt. Best man was Tristan Talley. Bridesmaids were Alaina Talley, Lisa Venner and Sheila Staszkiewicz. Groomsmen were Robbie Shaw, Eric Carlson and Vince Medina. Ushers were Christian Talley and Parker Staszkiewicz. Flower girl was Katelyn Talley. Guest book attendant was Kaila Venner. Readers were Annette Staszkiewicz and Andy Staszkiewicz.
A reception followed at the Lawrence Holidome.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Kansas University in 2008. She is an information technology sales engineer for Century United Companies Inc.
The groom is a 1995 graduate of Bartlesville High School and earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and economics from KU in 1999. He is a branch manager for US Bank.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Sarah and Jeremy Lill

Sarah Conklin, Hutchinson, and Jeremy Lill, Lawrence, were married Dec. 19, 2009, at Danforth Chapel at Kansas University, with the Rev. Chad Donohoe officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Scott and Kathy Conklin, Hutchinson.
The groom is the son of Jon and Rita Lill, Tonganoxie.
Matron of honor was Mary Hoover. Maid of honor was Ann Conklin. Best men were Richard Hickey and Chetan Patil. Bridesmaids were Jenny Mick, Jessica Lancaster and Kiley Willis. Groomsmen were Jeff Heidrick, Jeremy Fischer and Scott Conklin Jr.
A reception was given at The Eldridge Hotel.
The bride graduated from Hutchinson High School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from KU. She is a certified public accountant with RubinBrown in Overland Park.
The groom graduated from Houston High School in Germantown, Tenn. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting from KU, and a master’s degree in business administration from CIMBA, a KU study abroad program in Italy. He is an accounting lecturer at KU.
The couple reside in Overland Park.

Jennifer Danielle Nickell, Lawrence, and Jeremy Ryan Miller, Kennett, Mo., were married Nov. 13, 2009, in a private ceremony in Los Angeles, with deputy commissioner June Dikeman officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Marsha Nickell, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Patricia Harris, Malden, Mo.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School and is in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Los Angeles.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Holcomb (Mo.) High School and is employed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.
The couple reside in Los Angeles.

Bennett and McKee

Kalli Jordan Bennett and Jacob Gardner McKee

Scott and Terri Bennett, Stockton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kalli Jordan Bennett, to Jacob Gardner McKee, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Stockton High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Kansas University in 2008 and is a case manager for Cottonwood Inc. in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of Jeff and Kathy McKee, Lawrence. He is a 2003 graduate of Seaman High School, in Topeka, and earned bachelor degrees in psychology and anthropology from KU in 2007. He is a homeless outreach specialist at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, in Lawrence, and is pursuing a master’s degree in social work at KU.
The couple plan an Aug. 7, 2010, wedding at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Mick Ballinger and Maria Toledo

Ricardo and JoAnn Toledo, Topeka, along with Hartley and Eileen Ballinger, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Maria Toledo and Mick Ballinger, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a graduate of Seaman High School in Topeka and is a juvenile corrections officer at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex.
The future groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School and is a facility specialist at the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex.
The couple plan a May 22, 2010, wedding at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.

Anniversary

Cole

Don and Darlene Cole

Don and Darlene Cole, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a seven-day Caribbean cruise in January with their family. The cruise was a gift from their sons and their families.
The couple were married Nov. 24, 1959.
Both graduated from Stillwater (Okla.) High School and attended Oklahoma State University. They are retired. Don managed OTASCO in several locations including Lawrence. Darlene retired from Douglas County Conservation.
They have two sons, Dean, Lawrence, and Darren, Katy, Texas; and four grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.
