Sarah O’Hurley, Canton, Mass., and Joseph Van Saun, Lawrence, were married Jan. 2, 2009, at St. Mary of the Assumption, Brookline Village, Mass., with the Revs. Thomas Fleming, James McCune and Jack Ahern officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Neal and Christine O’Hurley, Canton, Mass.
The groom is the son of Paul and Debbie Van Saun, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Tricia O’Hurley. Best man was Michael McQueeney. Bridesmaids were Katie Bennett, Lizzie Boyle, Lindsay Cope, Ally Lynch, Liz O’Hara, Maya Sirur, Heather Sokolower and Kristen Van Saun Toner. Groomsmen were Jess Criswell, Gordon Glover, Chris Lucarz, Chris O’Hurley, Jack O’Hurley, Derek Sbrogna, Ryan Toner and Patrick Watkins. Flower girls were Caroline Arend and Elaina Van Saun. Ringbearers were Jeffrey Arend and William O’Hurley. Greeters were Carli Lynch and Michael O’Hurley. Altar server was Shawn Lynch. Eucharistic minister was Michelle Lynch. Soloist was John O’Hurley.
A reception was given in the Cityview Ballroom at The Seaport World Trade Center, in Boston.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, Raleigh, N.C. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Boston College in 2005 and is studying for a Master of Science degree in nursing from Connell School of Nursing at Boston College.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Boston College in 2004 and a Master of Science degree in accounting from Kansas University in 2005. He is a certified public accountant for AEW Capital Management in Boston.
The couple reside in Brookline Village, Mass.

The future bride earned a bachelor’s degree from Baker University in 1998 and a master’s degree in social work from Kansas University in 2003. She is a social worker for Good Shepherd Hospice, Kansas City, Mo.
The future groom is the son of Penelope Vrooman, Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Vrooman, Overland Park. He is a 1988 graduate of The Barstow School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1993. He is a vice president and financial consultant with RBC Wealth Management (Royal Bank of Canada), Leawood.
The couple plan a June 13, 2009, wedding at the Simpson House, Kansas City, Mo.

The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics from Kansas University in 2006. She is the property manager of Parkway Properties, Lawrence.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from KU in 2005. He is a switchman/conductor for Union Pacific Railroad.
The couple plan a Sept. 26, 2009, wedding at Danforth Chapel at KU.

The future bride is the daughter of Cindy Wingebach, Eudora, and the late Tom Wingebach. She is a 2004 graduate of Eudora High School. She graduated from Pinnacle Career Institute in August 2008 as a certified medical assistant and is employed at American Dermatology Associates in Shawnee.
The future groom is the son of Chris and Theresa Abel, Eudora. He is a 2006 graduate of Eudora High School and plans to earn a business management degree from Emporia State University in December 2010. He is employed at FedEx Ground in Lenexa.
The couple plan an Aug. 1, 2009, wedding at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.

Charles and Kathy Hagen

Charles and Kathy Hagen, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 28 at West Side Presbyterian Church, 1024 Kasold Drive.
Charles Hagen and Kathy Sullivan were married May 31, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
The couple moved to Lawrence in 1961. Charles worked for the U.S. Postal Service starting as a railway mail clerk and later retired from the station manager position at the Jayhawk Post Office on 23rd Street. Kathy volunteered at school, 4-H, church and community groups and was a homemaker. She started Prairie Flowers, and her husband joined her as the grower when he retired from the post office. The 20-year business sells cut flowers at the Lawrence Farmers’ Market. They are active members of West Side Presbyterian Church.
They have three daughters, Esther Wisdom and husband Alan, Falls Church, Va., Kathy Kapplemann and husband Tom, Lenexa, and Beth Key and husband Brian, Wichita; a son, Charlie and wife Laura KingHagen, Overland Park; and seven grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.

Wrightsman
Dayrl and Helen Wrightsman, Linwood, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends June 12.
Dayrl Wrightsman and Helen Miller were married June 12, 1949, in Lawrence.
Dayrl worked at Farmland Industries in Lawrence and also farmed. Helen worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years in Lawrence and Kansas City, Kan.
They have a daughter, Darla Scott and husband Leonard, Osawatomie; two sons, Greg and wife Michelle, Winfield, Pa., and the late Jeff; three grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The future groom is the son of Michael and Janice Seymour, Tonganoxie. He graduated from Tonganoxie High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kansas University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baker University. He is a programmer analyst for Lawrence Memorial Hospital in the information technology department.
The couple plan a July 18, 2009, outdoor wedding in Lawrence.

She is employed by Landrum & Brown Inc. in Overland Park.
The future groom is the son of Roger Davis, Marquette, and the late Peggy Davis. He is a 1996 graduate of McPherson High School and attended Kansas University. He is a mediator for an online consulting firm based in Texas.
The couple plan a May 1, 2010, wedding at Liberty Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Nancy Keim, Mesquite, Texas.
The groom is the son of Dean and Joyce Jordan, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Kristin Roberts. Best man was Ramin Zangeneh. Bridesmaids were Kristy Balthrop, Lindi Farris-Hill, Jana McIntosh and Caitlin Wilbur. Groomsmen were Lance Elizondo, Tommy Johnson, Chris Orlando and Max Phillips. Ushers were Drew Deal, Jager Loyde, Byron Martin and Brett Wiard. Guestbook attendant was Diana Wiard. Gift attendant was Kristen Jordan. Bride’s attendant was Meredith Cook. Flower girls were Sophia Flores and Gracie Flores.
A reception followed at Reflections on Spring Creek, with music provided by members of the University of North Texas One O’Clock Lab Band.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas, and earned a music education degree with a vocal emphasis from the University of North Texas in 2009.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a music education degree with an instrumental emphasis also from the University of North Texas in 2009.
The couple reside in Lewisville, Texas.
