Holmes
Nancy Phariss and Larry Holmes were married Oct. 17, 2006, at Danforth Chapel on the Kansas University campus, with the Rev. Paul Gray officiating.
Members of the wedding party were Leslie Phariss, Owen Phariss, Aaron Holmes and Van Holmes.
A reception was given at the Lawrence Country Club.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Flory and Bagwell
Sarah Bagwell, Lawrence, and Mark Flory, Overbrook, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of William Bagwell and Jacque Bagwell, both of Lawrence. The future groom is the son of Roger and Teresa Flory, Overbrook.
Sarah is a 2003 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Baker University. Mark also is a 2003 graduate of LHS. He received an associate's degree in animal science in 2005 from Fort Scott Community College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in animal science at Kansas State University. He plans to seek a master's degree at K-State.
The couple plan a May 2007 wedding.

Rose Larkin and Richard and Nancy Hamel, all of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Heather Lynn Baker and Colin Eugene Hamel, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a music education degree in 2006 from Kansas University. She is teaching at a child center in Uganda until May.
The future groom is a 2003 graduate of LHS. He is pursuing a degree in media studies at the Columbus College of Art and Design.

Joseph and Patricia Baker, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Baker, Lawrence, to Paul Rosel, Olathe, the son of Steven and Deborah Rosel, Topeka.
The future bride is a 1999 graduate of Free State High School and received a bachelor's degree in women's studies with a minor in dance in 2004 from Kansas University. She is employed by CEK Insurance in Lawrence.
The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Washburn Rural High School in Topeka and received a bachelor's degree in human biology in 2002 at KU. He is pursuing a degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
The couple plan an Aug. 25, 2007, wedding at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Kirk and Rhonda Vincent, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Natalie Vincent, Lawrence, to Jason Tucker, son of Joe and Rosemary Tucker, all of Kansas City, Kan.
Natalie is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 from Kansas University. She is employed as a correspondence representative at American Century Investments.
Jason is a graduate of Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kan., and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University. He is employed as a territory sales manager at American Century Investments.
The couple plan a June 15, 2007, wedding in Longboat Key, Fla.

Tiffany Musick, Eudora, and Jeremiah Smith, Tonganoxie, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Robert and Anita Musick, Eudora. The future groom is the son of Steven and Dee Smith, Tonganoxie.
Tiffany works at Daniel's Bar-B-Q in Tonganoxie and plans to attend college this fall. Jeremiah works at Masson's Greenhouse in Linwood and plans to attend college this fall.

Eva Yocum and Levi Parkin were married Dec. 15, 2006, at the Pomona Assembly of God, with Pastor Ron James officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Jennifer Yocum, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Thomas and Michele Parkin, Pomona.
The maid of honor was Katie Knapp. The best man was Jesse Dickerhoof. Bridesmaids were Paula Smith and Carissa Parkin. Groomsmen were Dustin James and Ethan Yocum.
A reception was given at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.
Eva is a 2006 graduate of Lawrence High School. She attends the American Academy of Cosmetology and Massage Therapy in Manhattan. She is employed at Dillons in Manhattan.
Levi is a 2004 graduate of Pomona High School and is majoring in landscape design at Kansas State University. He is employed at Home Depot in Manhattan.
The couple reside in Manhattan.

George and Arloene Simmons, Lecompton, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and card shower.
George Simmons and Arloene DeKat were married Jan. 24, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan.
George retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in 1978. Arloene is a homemaker.
Their children are Georgia Trammel and husband Johnny, Lecompton; Rita Mock and husband Robert, Fulton, Mo.; and the late Stanley Simmons. They have six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Cards may be sent to 2088 E. 1 Road, Lecompton 66050.
Anniversary
Benteman
Fritz and Mary Benteman, Lawrence, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married Jan. 19, 1957, in Lawrence.
Fritz worked for Lawrence Construction Co. and was a driver for Laird Noller Ford. Mary was a beautician for many years, then worked for Lawrence Memorial Hospital in the dietary department before they both retired.
Their children are Dale Tremain, St. Paul, Minn.; Judy Tremain and Karen Benteman Salber, both of Lawrence; Mike Tremain, Kansas City, Mo.; and the late Nada Schmidt, formerly of Michigan.
They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.

The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School and received a degree in communication studies in 2006 from KU.
