Thrower and Wells

Beverly Wells, Lecompton, and Randy Thrower, Olathe, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Dennis and Mary Stauffer, Lawrence. The future groom is the son of William and Christine Thrower, Olathe.
Beverly is a 1986 graduate of South Haven High School and a 2001 graduate of Washburn University. She is employed by the Kansas Department of Education.
Randy is a 1995 graduate of Olathe South High School. He is employed by Kansas University.
The couple plan a Dec. 29, 2007, wedding at Lecompton United Methodist Church.

Longhurst

Angela Curtis and Johnny Longhurst were married Sept. 28, 2007, in Lawrence.
The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Linda Holt, Hiawatha, and Larry and Susan Curtis, Lawrence. The groom is the son of David and Nancy Longhurst, Lawrence, and Mike and Charla Doughty, Nacogdoches, Texas.
A reception was given at Plum Tree in Lawrence.
Angela graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1995 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas University in 2001. She is a floral designer at Trapp and Co. in Kansas City, Mo.
Johnny graduated from Lawrence High School and is employed as a silk screener at Sun Creations in Lawrence. He also owns a screen printing business, Garfunkel Factory.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Smith

Sarah Anne Penny and Wyatt Bonham Smith were married Oct. 27, 2007, at Free Methodist Church in Lawrence, with Dr. Timothy Smith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William and Marlene Penny, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Timothy Smith, Scottsdale, Ariz., and the late Melodee Smith.
Matron of honor was Laura Penny Hedges. Best man was Rhett Smith. Bridesmaids were Kim Penny, Sara Tate, Sally Neher, Jori Tulkki, Jenny Gorup, Erika Devore, Colleen O'Malley, Kelli Hagadorn and Amanda Foster. Groomsmen were David Arnold, Brad Kresge, Tim Pierson, Danny Langley, Ryan Misner, Kyle Entz, Nate Penny, Jon Penny and Scott Penny.
Ring bearer was Will Hedges. Flower girl was Faith Hedges.
A reception was given at Alvamar Country Club.
Sarah graduated from Lawrence High School in 1995 and Kansas University in 1999. Wyatt graduated from Cactus High School in 1996 and Arizona State University in 2000.
The couple reside in Arlington, Va.

Stobaugh

Megan Beth Cartwright and Jordan Stobaugh were married July 14, 2007, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church, with Don Cunningham officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Karen Cartwright, St. Charles, Ill. The groom is the son of John Stobaugh and Elaine Kennedy, both of Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Tammie Link. Best man was Josh Woods. Bridesmaids were Anne Longhibler, Theresa Steffens and Allison Fine. Groomsmen were Joe Aber, Noah Welch and Brent Cartwright.
Flower girls were Kassidy Schumann and Angelica Harvey. Ring bearer was Jessye Schumann.
A reception was given at Maceli's.
Megan graduated from St. Charles East High School in 2001 and received a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas University in 2006. She is an intern architect at Finely Design in Durham, N.C.
Jordan graduated from Lawrence High School in 2003 and received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from KU in 2007. He is pursuing a doctorate at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
The couple reside in Durham, N.C.

Wright and Leiker

Leo and Elaine Leiker announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Leiker, to Andy Wright, all of Lawrence. The future groom is the son of Leon and Shirley Wright, Claremore, Okla.
The couple graduated from Free State High School in 2001. Ann received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Kansas University in 2005. She is pursuing an associate's degree in graphic design at Johnson County Community College.
Andy received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2005. He is employed by Bartlett & West in Topeka.
The couple plan an April 5, 2008, wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Rod and Susie Mohr, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Mohr, Lawrence, to Nolan Haire, Herington, son of Woodie and Terri Haire, Herington.
Elizabeth graduated from Free State High School in 2003 and Kansas University in 2007. She is pursuing a master's degree in social welfare at KU.
Nolan graduated from Herington High School in 2002 and KU in 2006. He is employed as an inside team specialist at Francis Sporting Goods in Lawrence.
The couple plan a June 14, 2008, wedding at First United Methodist Church in Law-rence.
