The future groom is the son of Greg and Marla Welch, Lawrence. He is a 1995 graduate of Hoisington High School. Joshua received a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics from KU in 2006. He works for Connex International in Lawrence.

The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Salina Central High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry from KU in 2002 and a master's degree in public health from Boston University in 2004. He attends the University of Colorado-Boulder School of Law.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Beverly Shriver, Herington. She graduated from Herington High School. She is a student at Kansas University. She has been a hair stylist in Lawrence for five years and is self-employed at Sizzors Salon Spa.
The future groom is the son of Greg and Cindy Wolff, Herington. He graduated from Herington High School. He graduated from Kansas University and is pursuing a master's degree in sports administration. He is head manager for the KU men's basketball team.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Hope Harley, New Paris, Ind. The groom is the son of Jim and Lois Brubacher, Walton.
Maid of honor was Brenda Harley. Best man was Josh Brubacher. Readers were Lori Brubacher and Claire Williams. Ring bearer was Gus Williams. Flower girl was Lulu Williams.

The bride works at Milton's in Lawrence. The groom is a graduate student at Kansas University, where he is studying architecture.

Bob and Betty Baer, Ottawa, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Robert Baer and Betty Andrews were married June 16, 1946, at the home of the bride's parents in Ottawa.
Bob graduated from Ottawa High School. He was a milk hauler for Bennett Creamery of Ottawa and Mid America Dairymen for 50 years. He also farmed. Betty graduated from Ottawa High School. She worked for Dr. Henning of Ottawa for 10 years.
Their children are Andy Baer, Ottawa; Kathy Ford, Olathe; and Julie McReynolds, Kansas City, Mo. They have three grandchildren.
Charles and Anna Laskowski, Lawrence, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Friday.
Charles Laskowski and Anna Paduch were married June 16, 1941, at St. Joseph's Church in Kansas City, Kan.
They spent 22 years traveling the country as Charles served in the U.S. Marine Corps. They retired to Lawrence in 1959. Charles worked for the Kansas University Police Department until his retirement in 1979.
Their children are Barbara Kosalka, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Carolyn Jensen, Jacksonville, N.C.; Charles Laskowski Jr., Michael Laskowski and Joann Gelvin, all of Lawrence. They have seven grandchildren.
Sharon and Robert Wagner, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends and family are welcome.
Robert Wagner and Sharon Dumas were married June 22, 1956, at Danforth Chapel on Kansas University's campus.
Sharon retired from Commerce Bank in 1999, and Robert retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in 2000.
Their children are David and Kathy Wagner, Lawrence, and Tracy and Joel Hood, Lawrence. They have five grandchildren.

Curtis and Cleda Dalton, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary during Sunday service at Plymouth Congregational Church, where they are longtime members. Their children and grandchildren invite friends and family to send them cards.

Jack and Carol Pickerel, Clay Center, formerly of Linwood, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family luncheon on June 24 in Lawrence.

Jack is retired from an insurance company. Carol is employed part-time at Clay County Abstract & Title Co.

They have four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Howard and Mary Lynch, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip to Canadian, Texas.
Howard E. Lynch and Mary K. Markley were married June 16, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence.
Howard retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 34 years. Mary retired from Farmland Industries after 26 years.
Their children are Jerrald Lynch, Lawrence; Galen Lynch, Canadian, Texas; and Ronald Lynch, Beaumont, Texas. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Barbara and Bobby Davis, Moore, Okla., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 1 at Carbondale Community Center in Carbondale.
Bobby Davis and Barbara Mitchell were married July 5, 1956, in Lawrence.
Bob worked for OK Tire, Lawrence Paper Mill, Graves Truck and retired from UPS. Barbara graduated from Lawrence High School in 1954. She worked for Rusty IGA, Coles IGA and Hallmark.
Their children are Jim Davis, Salina; Garry Davis, Salina; Ronnie Davis, McLouth; Kim Bernhardt, Carbondale; and Mike Davis, Wichita. They have 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
