The bride is a 1999 Free State High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2003 from Kansas University. She is working for the city of Lincoln, Neb., at a summer day camp. She plans to attend graduate school at the University of Nebraska Lincoln this fall.
The groom graduated in 1999 from Flour Bluff High School, Corpus Christi, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and Slavic literature and language in 2003 from KU. He is employed by the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer in Clovis, N.M. He attends Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he is working on a master's degree.

Wilbur and Leta White, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for friends and family from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Lawrence. The couple also marked the occasion by taking a trip with their family to Disney World and a cruise aboard a Disney World ship to the Caribbean.

Wilbur graduated from Kansas University with a degree in chemical engineering in 1959. He worked for FMC Corp. for 40 years. He was transferred to New York, California and Philadelphia during the years.
Leta graduated from the University of Wichita in speech and hearing pathology. She received a master's degree from the University of California - San Jose. She worked 23 years in speech. She bought and worked at The Banks Company in the early 1980s. She then became a real estate saleswoman for McGrew Real Estate for about 16 years.
Their children are Beth Ott, Lawrence; and David and Brenda White, Colorado Springs, Colo. They also have four grandchildren.

Darl Stevens and Clara Robb were married Aug. 5, 1955, in Kingman, Ariz.
Darl has retired from the Nevada Test Site. Clara is a homemaker.

Lila Baysinger and Bill Swanner were married July 28, 1945, in Hutchinson.
The couple farmed in Hartford before Bill began working in construction for Intrusion Prepakt and Lee Turzillo Const. Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. Bill also worked as a welder at Sauder Tank Co. and Lyon County Roads, both in Emporia. He retired from Berkel and Co., Bonner Springs.
Lila worked for Montgomery Ward, Hallmark Cards and Quaker Oats, Emporia, and Lee Turzillo Construction Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. The couple owned and operated the Independent Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Lawrence for several years.
Their daughters are Laurita Hardesty, Oskaloosa; Marla Jo Pleuss, Lee's Summit, Mo.; and Janet Klienow, Edwardsville. They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
