Notice to Bidders
CITY OF SHAWNEE, KANSAS
Sealed proposals will be received from Bidders by the
City of Shawnee, hereinafter
referred to as the Owner, at
the office of the City Clerk at
Shawnee City Hall, 11110 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas,
as well as online via Public
Purchase for testing a new
proposed on-line bidding
service (See below), until
10:00 A.M., May 31, 2013
at
which time, the bids received
will be opened and publicly
read for the construction of
the
15500 Johnson Drive
Storm Drainage Improvements
. Bidders will be notified of the results within fourteen (14) days of the date set
above for bids to be received.
The Contract shall be awarded
by the Governing Body of the
Owner at the sole and complete discretion of such Governing Body. The City of
Shawnee reserves the right to
reject any or all bids and to
waive informalities or irregularities in bids.
The Project provides for the
demolition of the existing
cross road culvert and installation of 148 linear feet 9'x6'
precast reinforced concrete
box with cast in place concrete headwalls and
wingwalls, 43 linear feet of lining small diameter corrugated
metal round pipe, 2 curb
inlets, 440 square yards asphalt street repair, curb and
gutter replacement, sodding,
seeding, and other ancillary
construction. Construction
will occur within existing
Right-of-Way and easements.
The City will soon be implementing on-line bidding, in addition to downloading plans.
Through this project, the City
will test the on-line bidding
process through the on-line
services of "Public Purchase."
Electronic bidding will be performed via Public Purchase.
In
order to be considered a
qualified bidder, the online
bid must be completed and
submitted

Each Bidder shall file with
their bid a cashier's check,
certified check, or bid bond
drawn on an acceptable bank
in an amount of not less than
five percent (5%) of the total
amount of the bid. Bid Bonds
will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders, with the exception of the second qualifying bidder, at such time as
their bids are rejected.
A non-mandatory pre-bid
meeting will be held on May
28, 2013, 3:00 pm at City Hall,
in the Community Room.
All bidders shall verify that
they have considered all written addenda. Any written addenda issued during the time
of bidding shall be covered
and included in the bid. There
will be no clarifications or exceptions allowed on the Bid.
Bids are for a total bid package, and total contract price.
Each bid shall be made on a
printed proposal form included with these documents.
Bids shall be submitted in
sealed envelopes and shall be
marked "
Bid for: 15500 Johnson Drive Storm Drainage
Improvements.
" An officer of
the firm making such proposal
shall properly execute all proposal forms. Bids received after the time and date above
specified shall be returned,
unopened, to the Bidder.

CITY OF SHAWNEE, KANSAS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC
HEARING
The City of Shawnee, Kansas (the "City"), will hold a
public hearing at 7:30 p.m.,
or as soon thereafter as
possible, on Tuesday, May
28, 2013, in the City Council
Chambers, 11110 Johnson
Drive, Shawnee, Kansas, to
consider issuance of its
Federally Taxable Private
Activity Revenue Bonds,
Series 2013 (Airtex, Inc.
Project) (the "Bonds"), in
the principal amount not to
exceed $9,500,000, for the
benefit of Airtex, Inc., a
Kansas corporation (the
"Company"), and to consider the granting of tax exemption incentives to the
Company. The proceeds of
the Bonds will be applied to
finance the acquisition and
construction of an approximate 170,000 square foot
commercial building, including real estate (the
"Project Site") and buildings and improvements
(the "Project Improvements"), to be leased to the
Company, or its assigns as
approved by the City, and
to pay the costs of issuance of the Bonds.
The Project is located at
43rd and Powell Drive
within the City.
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to K.S.A. 12 1744e,
that the City intends to enter into a lease purchase
agreement with the Company for the use of the Project, including the site
therefor, pursuant to K.S.A.
12 1740 et seq., as
amended. Property constructed with proceeds of
the Bonds will not be used
in any retail enterprise
identified under the standard industrial classification
codes.
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to K.S.A. 12 1749d,
that the City intends to
grant tax exemption incentives to the Company.
A copy of the Resolution
adopted by the City on
April 22, 2013, expressing
the intent of the Governing
Body of the City relating to
the financing of the Project
is on file in the office of the
City Clerk and is available
for public inspection during
normal business hours. Interested members of the
public are invited to attend
the public hearing and express their views orally or
in writing on the proposed
issuance of the Bonds and
the granting of tax exemption incentives.

Crossing Guard Services
The Shawnee Kansas Police
Department is soliciting
proposals (cost) for crossing guard services for the
school year beginning Fall
of 2013. If your business is
interested in submitting a
proposal for providing
crossing guard services to
the City of Shawnee Kansas
please include the information as outlined below. The
proposal may be submitted
by mail or e-mail.
- Name and contact information for person submitting bid
- The current terms of the
providers liability insurance coverage
- The total cost to the City
of Shawnee for crossing
guard services per year for
a minimum of three years
of service.
