Community Notification
The City of Shawnee, Kan-
sas in accordance with Na-
tional Flood Insurance Pro-
gram regulation 65.7(b)(1),
hereby gives notice of the
City of Shawnee's intent to
revise the floodway, gen-
erally located between
Shawnee Mission Parkway
and Flint Street just west
of Goddard Street. Specifi-
cally, the floodway shall
be revised from a point ap-
proximately 180 feet
downstream of Shawnee
Mission Parkway to a point
approximately 250 feet up-
stream of Neiman Road. As
a result of the floodway re-
vision, the floodway shall
narrow with a maximum
narrowing of 304 feet at a
point approximately 540
feet upstream of Shawnee
Mission Parkway.

In addition, the 1% annual
chance water-surface ele-
vation and the 1% annual
chance floodplain shall be
revised from a point ap-
proximately 180 feet
downstream of Shawnee
Mission Parkway to ap-
proximately 250 feet up-
stream of Neiman Road. As
a result of the revision, the
1% annual chance
water-surface elevations
shall decrease a maximum
of 3.67 feet at a point ap-
proximately 540 feet up-
stream of Shawnee Mis-
sion Parkway and the 1%
annual chance floodplain
shall narrow within the
area of revision with a
maximum narrowing of
245 feet at a point approxi-
mately 540 feet upstream
of Shawnee Mission Park-
way.

Proposals will be received
by the City of Shawnee,
hereinafter referred to as
the Owner, until 10:00
A.M., SEPTEMBER 28, 2016

at which time bids re-
ceived will be publicly
read aloud for CONNECT
SHAWNEE. Bidders will be
notified of the results
within fourteen (14) days
of the date set above for
bids to be received. The
City of Shawnee reserves
the right to reject any or
all bids and to waive infor-
malities or irregularities in
the bids. The contract will
be awarded by the Govern-
ing Body of the Owner to
the lowest, responsible
Bidder. Connect Shawnee
will provide new trail con-
nections at three (3) sepa-
rate locations within the
City. Two connections will

connections will provide

portation options to

eral funding allocated un-

portation Act for Trans-
portation Alternative (TA)
