(Bureau Chief)
The selected candidate for this position will work in Topeka. This person serves as the Chief of the Bureau of Public Involvement and is responsible for managing KDOT's response to the public's communication needs. You will develop citizen partnership processes and champion internal and external communication so the public can participate in a timely and meaningful way in the transportation decision -making process. Duties include meeting facilitation, news media relations, training, web site development and content management. Occasional overnight, in-state travel is required.
We are pursuing candidates with knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices of public affairs or public relations. Must have at least two years of experience in one or more of the following or related areas: citizen participation, meeting facilitation, news media relations, teaching, training, web site development and content management. Strong writing and presentation skills required. Supervisory experience preferred.
