Mediaphormedia is the online division of The World Company, a communications and media company based in Lawrence, Kansas. Mediaphormedia, widely considered to be one of the most innovative news and media organizations in the country, is seeking a System Administrator. Responsible for installing, configuring and administering systems including LAMP-style, *nix, and Ubuntu/Debian systems. Maintains department network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
The ideal candidate should have experience administering LAMP-style systems or *nix; experience with Ubuntu/Debian helpful; experience with scripting language, especially as used to write sysadmin-type scripts; knowledge of Python, Perl and Bash is helpful; basic understanding of administering databases; and experience with PostgreSQL plus tuning skills helpful.
