The Director of Technology for Research and Development (Project Director) is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and evaluation of all the technological resources for CETE, including the Kansas Computerized Assessment (KCA) project, which supports the online delivery of large scale, high stakes tests throughout the state of Kansas to all K-12 schools.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
2. Four years of experience in Information Technology or in a related field.
3. Four years of experience designing and developing Web based applications using technologies such as J2EE (Java Servlets, JSP), java application servers such as Tomcat or others; relational databases such as Postgresql, MySQL or Oracle;JDBC.
4. Three years of experience in Web Services (SOAP, REST, WSDL) and in MVC frameworks (Struts, Maverick, JSF).
5. Two years of experience with high availability, redundant, multi-tier cluster environments that require support for load balancing, session replication, database replication, and fail over techniques.
6. Three years of experience directing the software development process from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance.
7. Three years of supervisory/ project management experience in Information Technology.
8. One year experience with the implementation of large-scale (statewide or larger) high stakes online assessment systems.
