ASSISTANT
Key position in the executive offices of the Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority. Works independently on its own duties & responsibilities while at the same time providing staff & administrative support to the executive director & Board of Commissioners. Chief duties include, but not limited to, risk mgmt., procuring administrative contracts & agency insurance coverage, HUD reporting using computer on-line systems, coordinating purchase of major office equipment & computer software/ hardware, basic computer support & troubleshooting, receiving agency mail & email, updating agency's website, maintaining policies & procedures manuals, & various support services for agency housing programs. Qualifications include associates degree or equivalent in a field related to required job duties, at least 5 yrs. experience working in an executive office as an asst. to a CEO, knowledge of federal regulations & compliance, ability to communicate effectively & professionally orally & in writing, ability to professionally interact w/ the public, elected & appointed officials & ability to work independently without supervision.
