Apply to be a part of the Citizen Journalism Academy
The application deadline, Sept. 15, 2006, has passed.
The World Company and the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas are seeking people who have an interest in becoming a member of the first class of citizen journalists in our community Citizen Journalism Academy.
About the Citizen Journalism Academy
You'll learn from educators and practicing journalists about the processes and standards that help translate community activities and events into "news." You'll learn about writing, photography, videography and blogging.
There is no charge for the class. The only expense is likely to be your investment and commitment of time.
Academy graduates will have an appreciation for the work of journalists and have the opportunity to develop the skills enabling them to produce content and participate in local media.
We anticipate five Monday evening classes during the month of October, beginning Oct. 2.
Apply for the Citizen Journalism Academy
To apply to be in the first class of the Citizen Journalism Academy, simply fill out the form below. Each field is required. Tell us about yourself and why you'd like to be selected for this first class of 20-25 individuals. We need your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, plus a paragraph or two describing your reasons for wanting to be selected.
