Kaitlin Heller, of Lawrence, has been named to the Dean’s List at Bethel College in North Newton for earning a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 for the past academic year.
An open house is scheduled for June 16 to celebrate Mary Gauthier’s 90th year. She is a longtime Lawrence High business teacher. The event, organized by the Gauthier family, will be from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St. In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to a Mary Gauthier Scholarship for a graduating LHS senior interested in further education in the business and technical field.
Evan Taylor, of Lawrence, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts cum laude degree during Creighton University’s commencement ceremony on May 18 in Omaha, Neb.
Army National Guard Pfc. Joseph F. Chavez Jr., a 2008 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Garrett Wagner, of Lawrence, has earned a spot on the University Dean’s List at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, for the fall 2012 semester. To qualify, students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
A celebration of Clarence Anderson’s 95th birthday will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton. Anyone who cannot attend may send cards to Clarence at 1192 East 612 Road, Lawrence, KS 66047.
Heather Karlin, a 2011 graduate of Baldwin High School, has been named to the fall 2012 President’s List of Benedictine College. To qualify, students must maintain 4.0 GPA during the semester.
