Army National Guard Pfc. Joseph F. Chavez Jr., a 2008 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
Emporia State University has released its Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester.
Six students from the Lawrence area will travel to Abilene next month to compete in the 25th annual Kansas National Geographic Bee.
Garrett Wagner, of Lawrence, has earned a spot on the University Dean’s List at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, for the fall 2012 semester. To qualify, students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
