A Kansas University student was killed and a Shawnee woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday night about one mile south of Lawrence on U.S. Highway 59.

Douglas County Dispatch said that the accident involved a single vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle also suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

North Lawrence accident leaves pedestrian with serious injuries

A vehicle-pedestrian accident in North Lawrence has left a 37-year-old Lawrence man with serious injuries. At 9:02 p.m. Douglas County Emergency Dispatch received a call reporting that a silver Buick had hit a pedestrian near the intersection of North Second and Lincoln streets.

One man killed in turnpike accident
